Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey leads the box office with an opening collection of $84.7 million. IMDB reviews rated it over 8.8 while Rotten Tomatoes witnessed an average rating of 65% but the movie sheens despite reviews.

Director Peter Jackson debuted the concept of HFR 3D which opened to mixed reviews but it’s a great beginning for a new trilogy. The Hobbit brings the old Middle Earth back to life with a whole lot of characters with exciting characteristics.

Box Office houses Rise of the Guardians and Lincoln in the next two places respectively. A promising start for the box office this week and it’s about to get better, we hope!
